Facebook and Skype study the possibility of partnering
According to the Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with the situation, the social network Facebook and the Internet telephone company Skype are negotiating a possible partnership in order to integrate their communication services.
Under this agreement, Facebook users would be able to log into Skype with their Facebook Connect accounts, the newspaper noted. And once connected, they could send text messages and use voice chat and video chat with their Facebook friends from Skype.
The built-in features are based on version 5.0 of Skype, which is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
Activating Skype's voice and video chat on Facebook would be a "logical evolution" of society, the source noted for the newspaper.
